Structural Engineer - Quality Control (site based) | Buro Happold

Job Purpose:

Based on site this role will be working with the QA/QC team of Buro Happold in conjunction with Saudi Bin Ladin (SBG) quality engineers and inspectors on the King Saud University Girls Campus Project in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The King Saud University (KSU) Girls Campus project is an extension to the existing KSU campus in Riyadh, the project consists of 19, 4 to 5 storey tall insitu RC and precast buildings which are currently approximately 20% complete.

Key Responsibilities:

• Report to Site Engineering Quality Director

• Supervise and manage the structural inspection team

• Ensure that the requirements of the applicable specifications and drawings are complied with

• Report on deficiency corrections on site.

• Maintain and monitor Site QA/ QC (Inspection and Supervision) procedures.

• Initiate/ generate technical instructions, site notes and other site observations.

• Assist in administering safety programme and procedures.

• Liaise with other disciplines for co-ordination issues.

• Maintain site diary on daily basis. Record all significant events on site.

• Assist in preparation of weekly and monthly reports.

• Coordinate and conduct tests and inspections as required under the technical specifications

• Prepare quality control reports and maintain records of all Quality Control activities in coordination with SBG Quality Control staff.

• Graduate member of IStructE (UK) or equivalent institution

• Relevant Engineering Degree (BEng/ MEng)

• Minimum of 3 years consulting engineering experience, preferably including RC design/ supervision
